Bookmobile 2024! - Wake County, NC

The Bookmobile is back at parks! And have we mentioned how much we LOVE the Bookmobile??? 🤩🤓📚

As part of Wake County Public Library's #LibraryOnTheGo program, the Bookmobile will be heading out to 3 Wake County Parks from now through June. The Bookmobile will be at Crowder County Park in April, Historic Oak View for most of May, and Lake Crabtree at the end of May and in June.

Besides for being able to check out books from the Bookmobile like you would any regular library, you can also return books, sign up for a library card, and participate in other crafts and activities. It can also be a nice reprieve from the heat!

This month, the Bookmobile will be open from 10am-noon on April 17, 18, 19, 22, 24, 25, and 26.

This program will also be having story times, with two coming up on April 17 and 24, each at 10:30 am at the pavilion with the bathrooms by the large playground. (You can get to the large playground by making the first right when you enter the park. The Bookmobile is located in that parking lot as well.) We very much enjoyed our story time yesterday and are looking forward to attending more!

A full list of the Library on the Go events can be found at wake.gov/LibraryOnTheGo.

And finally, after you visit the Bookmobile, enjoy the playground and the trails Crowder has to offer. A don’t-miss spot is the wooden bridge around the small pond where tons of turtles are visible swimming around - including a snapping turtle! 🐢 (Please also make sure to not feed the turtles.)

Have you visited the Bookmobile or plan to this summer? Let us know in the comments!
