Today was definitely one of the better get-out-of-the-house-but-still-social-distance days we’ve had since this quarantine business began. We went to Wake County Parks' Crowder Park and walked the trail around the lake. The boardwalk alone was worth the trip due to the crazy amount of turtles that we saw, including an ENORMOUS one, which we think was a common snapping turtle. (Scroll through the photos here and our Instastories to see that we definitely are not kidding about its size!)

The boardwalk and short pond loop trail were fantastic with many opportunities to see all different kinds of nature. This would be great for kids of any age.

Also, did you know that Crowder is scheduled to QUADRUPLE in size in the coming years? We can’t wait to see what new adventures the expanded park will hold.

Lastly, we just want to remind everyone that when you are at parks, please do not feed the wildlife. While it was really cool to see so many turtles today, it became clear that people must feed them because they were literally following us along the boardwalk. Please follow the directions on the posted signs to not feed the wildlife.
