The daffodils are back at Dorothea Dix Park, which means the Olympic sport of trying to get a photo of all family members happily looking at the camera is also back! 😆
But seriously, every year we look forward to Dix Park’s daffodils underneath the Raleigh skyline because they are gorgeous and mean spring is on the way!
The daffodils can be found just a ways up from Dorothea Dix Cemetery and where the sunflowers usually are in the summer (you can type Sunflower Field in Google Maps and this will give you an idea of where you need to go). There is parking in a variety of places by the buildings off Umstead Drive.
There is also now a short little trail in the woods by the sunflowers. Look for a small wooden bridge (see photo 4) and that will take you in to maybe, possibly finding some fairy houses. 🧚🧚♀️🧚♂️
Besides the trail, there is also a small area with some swings by the sunflower field.
Bathrooms are scarce, so plan accordingly.
And finally, just a reminder that the daffodils are not for picking. Please also try to be kind to the flowers when you take your photos so as many people as possible can enjoy them.
So now, the only real question is, how did you fair in trying to get that smiling family photo? 🤣 Tag us in your posts and stories so we can see your amazing skill, or your hilarious attempts!
