Lazy Daze Playground at Bond Park - Cary, NC

Lazy Daze Playground in Town of Cary's Bond Park has reopened! And wow, what a facelift. (See the last photo here for the transformation.) This playground has always held a special place in our hearts since it was our experience here that gave us the lightbulb moment that there was a need in the community for more detailed information about parks and playgrounds in the Triangle.

Lazy Daze is a bit tucked away in the trees and we love the shift from the loud purple, yellow, and blue metal and plastic that it once was, to the natural materials structures and forest-green paint accents that make it feel like a clubhouse hideaway in the woods.

To get to Lazy Daze, enter Bond Park through the Bond Park Drive entrance (the park does have 2 entrances), and take the winding road a short ways in and you will see the playground on the left side of the road by athletic fields and opposite the Sertoma Amphitheatre. There are parking lots off both sides of the road, and then you can easily walk to the playground.

A few other logistics:

• There is no bathroom directly at the playground - you’ll need to walk across the street by the Sertoma Amphitheatre to get to one.

• There is a bit of squishy ground under some of the play structures but this is a majority mulch park, and also contains a big sand pit.

• There are some paved pathways that run through the playground that make it easy to bring a stroller in.

• Picnic tables and other seating available.

And last but not least, an interesting fact we discovered: the two main play structures here were made by Earthscape Play, the same folks who did the cardinals in Downtown Cary Park!

Have you made it out to the new Lazy Daze yet? Let us know in the comments!
