But wait, there’s more! On Wednesday we brought you the wonders of the Children’s Wonder Garden at NC Botanical Garden, and today we’re making sure you don’t miss out on the indoor, air-conditioned activity room right next to it!
This hidden gem is called the “Peacock Discovery Room” and can be accessed from doors on both sides of the classrooms building at the Garden (the building right next to the visitors center).
This room usually has some kind of activity on the main tables, plus books, pillows, a felt board, an “I Spy״ activity, comfy chairs, and all kinds of information about North Carolina wildlife and plants. According to the Garden’s website, this room is geared toward children up to age 10, but everyone can enjoy it.
There’s so much to see at the Garden (much of it shaded), and then you can head to this room for a much-needed summer cool-down.
And while this is a fantastic spot for a break, please remember this is a no food area. (See the sign in photo 9.) 🚫🍔🌭🥤🧃🚫
Bathrooms are located right outside, and more if necessary are in the adjacent visitors center, along with a Mother’s Room.
Another reminder: NC Botanical Garden is closed Mondays and has limited hours on Sundays (1-5pm). All other days are 9-5. We checked the Garden’s website to see if there are different hours for the Discovery Room, and no different times are listed, so we’re assuming at this point that it is open when the Garden is open. (If we hear differently, we’ll make sure to update accordingly.)
