Clever girl. 🦖 Yes, friends, one of our favorite events of the year, Sculpture in the Garden at the North Carolina Botanical Garden, is back, and this year there is a DINOSAUR!
The NC Botanical Garden is amazing on a regular day, but we love this time of year where we can search for the 75+ works of art throughout the garden as well (many made by local artists).
This free event is currently in its 36th year, and will be going on during regular garden hours through December 8. (The garden is closed Mondays, only open 1-5 on Sundays, but other days are pretty regular hours.)
I always have a tough time selecting which photos to post every year since there are so many good pieces, and I’m happy Instagram has bumped the photos up to 20 for each post now. But it is still not enough. 😂
Some of our favorites this year besides the dinosaur were the large wind chime (you can touch, but be gentle), a dapper looking ostrich, and a pair of sea serpents. Every piece of art has a sign about it, but some pieces are still a bit hidden, so enjoy the scavenger hunt to find them all.
Information about all the pieces can be found at the info cart you see in the last photo here, which is by the education center.
If you’re going with your kids, don’t miss the garden’s Peacock Discovery Room or the Children’s Wonder Garden. (We’ve posted about these before and will share them in our stories when we make this post.)
Much of the garden is not paved, but it is a hard-packed gravel and strollers are possible. Bathrooms are also located in the education center, by the discovery one, and in at least 1 other location out in the garden.
So much is still blooming in the garden now making this is a great trip as we finally get cooler temps outside.
