We always love a good scavenger hunt, especially when you’re looking for a cryptid like a yeti! And for the next few weeks, there’s a pair of yetis on the loose at the JC Raulston Arboretum. And better yet, they are protecting a special treasure!
We won’t spoil the treasure or their location for you, but this was a great way to get excited about the Arboretum in the winter when there is a little less going on. I personally am a huge fan of places like this in the winter because it really makes you look to find the few things blooming, or you may discover a new plant or feature of the Arboretum that you didn’t notice during the summer when there is so much to look at.
The yetis are going to be in one location this week, but they are moving to a new location on January 24, and then another new location on January 31. Their last day at the Arboretum will be February 6.
This is a completely free, self-guided event. To get the yeti’s treasure, scan the QR code on the top of the box and it will provide you with the combination for the lock.
I will share our previous review of JC Raulston Arboretum in our Instastories for a bit more general information about the location, or you can either scroll through our posts to find it, or send me a DM and I can send you the post.
While at the Arboretum, keep an eye out for daffodils and the Japanese apricot trees - both are currently blooming as you can see from our photos here.
Have you been to Raulston Arboretum? Let us know in the comments, and definitely let us know if you find the yetis!
